These pictures were taken 4/5/07 -- Approximately 3 weeks after her 2nd stage medpor surgery. Belle's ear was healing nicely except for one spot that was slower than the rest. We used a wet-to-dry gauze change technic on this spot and it healed quickly.
The stitches around Belle's earlobe eventually came out with some rubbing. However, Belle had some problems with stitches not completely disolving in her scalp. In May, Dr Reinisch suggested we find a local plastic surgeon to try to remove the stiches, and in June we finally had our pediatrican convince the local plastic surgeon to do so.
All-in-all we are very happy with the results, and as we tell Belle "her new ear looks better every day!"
