Belle must have gotten sick half-a-dozen times within a few hours after the surgery, but after that she seemed okay. It would have been her choice to stay-up watching movies all night, but we eventually got her to sleep and she slept pretty well until the next morning. Belle and I stayed in the one King sized bed and a couple times during the night she grabbed onto me and snuggled-up right against me, but no complaints. Her only concern in the morning was when we would be turning her new movie back on. We offered pain medication, but she didn't want or need it (not even regular Tylenol).
We slowly offered her some breakfast and just let her relax at the hotel watching TV until it was time to check-out and see Dr Reinisch for our post-op before heading home.We had a long wait in the waiting room for our appointment which again gave us the opportunity to meet some of our Yahoo Atresia/Microtia friends -- yeah. Unfortunately, Belle was not at all appreciative of the fact the Dr R wanted to clean-up her ear a little before sending us home (she screamed amazingly loud). Dr R commented that he's come to the conclusion that Belle is "rather dramatic" of course we already knew that...
Dr R seemed happy with what he saw and cleared us to head for home. The trip home was very long and Belle was pretty grumpy tired at the end, but we were all so happy to be home!
